Mage: The Cats in the Cradle
Should you happen to visit Mercer Island, Washington State, it might be that you come across a coffee place called The Cat’s Cradle. You can’t miss it. It’s got awesome coffee, some nice food, a good atmosphere. Oh, and it’s the one with cats wandering in and out of it.
You’ll probably like it. It’s a nice place and the people are nice too. Some of them have strange names, and sometimes they act a bit odd, but then it’s that kind of place. Hipsters rub shoulders with retail workers on their lunch breaks and students who want to get out of the house to study. They don’t judge at The Cat’s Cradle. They’ll probably like you, man. It’s all there.
The trick, though, if you know how to do it and have the patience to try, is to look at what isn’t there. What happens in the corner of your vision, right at that point where you write it off as a trick of the light or a figment of your imagination. Because, man, they only get stranger. But it’s mostly a good kind of strange. And if you notice it, walk over and say hi. You might just be surprised at what they’ll say back.
